Meet Mr. Riedner

Welcome to Shenandoah High School! Here is a little bit about myself. I was born in Columbia, South Carolina along with my fraternal twin brother but was raised mostly in the north and graduated from Grayling High School in Grayling, Michigan. After graduation I attended Anderson University in Anderson, Indiana and majored in Bible with a Music Performance minor. During my senior year in college I served as the lay pastor of youth at Trinity United Methodist Church in Lapel but after college graduation entered the mental health profession working as a case manager for mentally ill adults and developmentally disabled children. In August of 2003 I decided to go back to school and attended Indiana Wesleyan University where I earned my Masters degree in School Counseling. After graduating with my Masters I worked at Tri Junior-Senior High School for three years before coming to Shenandoah.

I have been married to my beautiful wife Mica since 2000. We have a daughter, Madalyn, who attends SHS as well as four dogs (Eli, Lacie, Zeke, and Arlo). When I am not at work, I love to spend time with my family, read, drink coffee, cheer on the Pittsburgh Steelers, and continue my life-long involvement in the martial arts. My wife and I are members of Bethany Christian Church in Anderson where together we coordinate a ministry for families with a disabled family member. I believe that every student has unrealized potential and I am passionate about helping them learn more about their unique skills and where they fit into the world. I am joined in the office this year by Arlo (pictured above) who is working towards becoming a certified Therapy Dog. Just like me he loves getting to know the students of SHS.

Thanks for the opportunity to serve your student. Go Raiders!
