Summer School 2024
SHS Summer School Info
Shenandoah High School summer school courses are only open to current SHS students. There is no cost for Summer School. Unexcused Absences are not tolerated during summer school. A student will be automatically withdrawn from summer school following their first unexcused absence. Excused absences must be pre-arranged and approved by the principal.
GOVERNMENT: Available to seniors only. Upon completion a student will have fulfilled the Government requirement toward graduation. Class meets in-person May 29 to June 25 from 8:00am – 12:00pm daily. Limit of 28 students. Preference will be given to students attending a Career Center program or students with a schedule conflict.
ECONOMICS: Available to seniors only. Upon completion a student will have fulfilled the Economics requirement toward graduation. Economics will be taught online through Indiana Online from June 10 to July 21.
SUPERVISED AGRICULTURAL EXPERIENCE (SAE): This course is only available to students in FFA. Coursework is completed through Canvas. All final materials must be submitted no later than June 25.
CREDIT RECOVERY (SEE LIST BELOW): Credit Recovery courses will be offered using PLATO (Edmentum) Credit Recovery software. Class meets May 29 to June 28 from 8:00am – 12:00pm daily. Students are required to attend SHS each day during the above time frame until all coursework is completed. While at SHS students will work at their own pace under the supervision of a licensed teacher. Since each course is designed as a credit recovery option, students will not be allowed to enroll in a class on PLATO until they have attempted the entire semester of a class in-person first. Classes available for credit recovery include:
English 9, 10, 11, 12 US Government US History
Health & Wellness Algebra 1 and 2 Geometry
Economics Biology Geography & History of the World
*Elective (w/ pre-approval)
